Job Description.
Roles and responsibilities
- As the technical leader/manager, you will define a scope of work, prepare the timetable, and supervise engineering activities for customer projects. Provide technical leadership and collaborate with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Management, Sourcing, and Engineering subcontractors.
- Hold direct people management responsibilities, such as staffing and performance development. Uses in-depth knowledge of a technical area, as well as analytical thinking and technical experience, to carry out policy/strategies.
- Project Management Responsibilities include managing the technical scope, timeline, and budget while mentoring the team to assure the project’s excellent outputs.
- Have knowledge of best practices and how own field combines with others; is aware of the competition and the elements that distinguish them in the market.
- Utilise technical knowledge and analytical thinking. Make decisions based on many internal and external sources outside of your own team.
- Explain knowledge and develop skills for bringing team members to consensus on field-related topics. Communicate performance expectations and may address difficult problems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A relevant degree or HND in a Technical or Engineering subject, or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading engineering teams, preferably among software engineers.
- Demonstrates a rational attitude, as well as strong problem-solving and solution building abilities.
- Demonstrable experience completing technical projects within budget and schedule restrictions.
Desired Characteristics
- Prior expertise with scalable cloud-based software development or administration in Azure/AWS is extremely advantageous.
- You will be working in a team atmosphere, therefore having good written and verbal communication skills will help you (and the team) be more effective.
- You will be invited to engage in technical reviews within the Aircraft Services team to provide technical expertise and solutions, as well as interact with the end customer! A positive attitude, initiative, and proactivity, as well as enthusiasm and passion for software engineering, will help you succeed in this field.
