JOB SUMMARY
**Opportunity Overview**
Join our innovative Externals Model Line Cell at Caledonian. As part of this initiative, you will be involved in a “model line” where lean principles are applied to streamline processes and enhance product flow to the customer.
**Job Description**
As an Externals Model Line Mechanic, you will:
– Adhere to specified manual limits and tolerances.
– Collaborate with your team to process external materials, including cleaning, inspecting, repairing, accumulating, and presenting.
– Support and drive continuous improvements within the model line.
**Essential Responsibilities**
– Work effectively within a team setting.
– Follow manuals and engineering instructions accurately.
– Utilize good hand skills gained from previous experience.
– Apply practical knowledge of calibrated measuring equipment.
– Work on a rotating three-shift pattern: Nightshift, Backshift, and Dayshift.
– Identify and implement process improvements using lean principles such as Takt, Flow and Linkage, and 5S, along with problem-solving methodologies.
– Take responsibility for Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality issues.
– Participate in Daily Shop Management activities.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
– A recognized engineering or mechanical apprenticeship with relevant industry experience.

– Familiarity with computer-based applications.
– Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
– Computer literacy.
– Proven team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for EHS standards and quality.
– Ability to work from technical drawings and manuals.
– Good manual dexterity.
– Eagerness to learn new skills and demonstrate flexibility.
