Drives initiatives to increase the Engineering function’s effectiveness and collaborates with other functions to ensure efficient coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional procedures, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Affects approaches, projects, and programmes in the functional area or affected corporate organisation, as well as working methods. Impacts the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of one’s own team. Contributes significantly to the setting of priorities. Guided by role-specific professional practices and policies. The role has moderate autonomy and requires a high level of operational judgement.

Job Description.

Roles and responsibilities

• Responsible for creating and managing engineering and technology projects. Interacts with internal and external customers to ensure that organisational resources are allocated. Accountable for delivering the scope of work within the initial cost estimate. Manages the timeline, budget, and integration of NPI and/or requisition initiatives, influencing them to achieve client CTQs and tollgate milestones. A project is frequently a component of a programme.
• Developing specialised knowledge in their field. Serves as a best-practice/quality reference. Has a good understanding of the most recent technological breakthroughs in their field. Contributes to strategy and policy creation while ensuring delivery within the scope of responsibility.
• Has in-depth understanding of best practices and how their own area intersects with others; has working knowledge of competition and the elements that separate them in the market.
• Uses judgement to make decisions or solve moderately complicated tasks or problems in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering fields. Offers a new perspective on established solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise to analyse data and make recommendations. Decisions are made using a combination of internal and restricted external information outside of one’s own role.
• Serves as a resource for coworkers who have less experience. May manage modest projects with minimal risks and resource requirements. Explains tough or sensitive material and attempts to achieve consensus. Developing the persuasion skills needed to influence people on themes within the area.

Required Qualifications

• This position requires extensive experience in Engineering/Technology and Project Management. The knowledge level is equivalent to a Master’s degree from an authorised university or college.
