In Norfolk, we’ve invested millions to radically restructure our operating model and provide you with the professional and emotional support you need to accomplish the job you were trained for, obtain the best outcomes for children and families, and establish a work-life balance that works for you.

We are honest about the problems, but we are passionate about how we can help you overcome them so you can experience the benefits of social work. As part of this commitment, we provide a helpful curriculum to assist you in transitioning your social work experience to UK practice.

Our Offer:

You will get specialised support from a Practice Consultant, a Senior Social Worker whose duty is to assist you with your learning and development. A bespoke approach to assist you in transitioning your talents to work in the UK. You will be part of a social work team in your community, so you will learn from your team manager and colleagues.

You will have regular supportive and reflective supervision from your Practice Consultant, as well as one-on-one case supervision with your Manager. You will also benefit from group supervision and a protected workload that will grow alongside you, giving you time to learn new systems, processes, and legislation.

You will have frequent planned reviews at which your progress will be examined; once your performance is considered to be adequate and you no longer require programme assistance, you will be promoted to a Level 2 Social Worker position (£37,336-£39,186). As a Social Worker with Norfolk Children’s Services, you will have access to a variety of development programmes and professional advancement options.
