About the Role

Patterdale Hall, the residential adventure learning center of Bolton School, is looking for a committed and enthusiastic General Assistant to join its team. This hands-on role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a stunning location, helping to provide an exceptional experience for school children and commercial groups.

Accommodation is available on-site, making this ideal for candidates seeking a live-in position in the Lake District.

Main Responsibilities

You’ll work across three key operational areas:

  • Catering – Assisting with food preparation and service

  • Housekeeping – Maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the Hall

  • Evening Support – Helping with evening events and guest activities

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. No specific experience is required, but the ideal candidate will:

  • Be proactive, positive, and flexible

  • Enjoy working as part of a team

  • Be willing to learn and take on varied tasks

  • Ideally have some experience in hospitality, catering, or cleaning (desirable but not essential)

Pay & Benefits

  • Salary: £23,492 to £24,703 per year (based on experience)

  • Pension: Option to join the Group Personal Pension Scheme (6% employee / 10% employer contribution)
