Role Overview

The Finance Manager – UK will be responsible for leading statutory accounting, managing external audits, and representing Harley-Davidson before local tax authorities. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with all relevant regulations, and strong financial governance for the UK operations.

The position oversees a finance team of 4–5 analysts and leads, driving performance, development, and process improvement. The Finance Manager will also collaborate with both finance and business leaders to support strategic decision-making, forecasting, and planning activities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, and corporate policies.

Act as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely and efficient audit completion.

Serve as the company representative with UK tax authorities, managing compliance, audits, and related correspondence.

Maintain and enhance internal financial controls, ensuring compliance with corporate and legal standards.

Manage and develop a high-performing finance team through coaching, performance management, and professional development.

Oversee monthly and quarterly closing activities related to statutory and tax reporting.

Partner with regional and global teams on financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Identify and lead process and systems improvements to increase efficiency and audit readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (required).

Professional Certification:

Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance, with significant exposure to statutory reporting and external audit.

Proven experience managing audits and interacting with tax authorities.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a finance environment.

Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is an advantage.

Proficiency in SAP and financial reporting systems preferred.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
