About the Role
We are looking for someone proactive and organized to come on board with the new Agrifood Futures team here at the University of Reading. This is a real chance to help get a big program off the ground. It focuses on pushing forward research and innovation in food and agriculture.
In this Administrative Support Officer position, you will help set up the whole initiative. You will give professional, flexible administrative help to the Agrifood Futures leadership team. That team has seven senior academic and professional folks. They are handling a major investment in agrifood research.
You will join right as the team is forming. You will help build solid administrative systems and ways of working. The program will change over time. This job lets you make a real difference. You will support teamwork inside the University. You will also work with outside partners in food and agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
You will offer proactive, top-notch administrative help to senior people on the Agrifood Futures team.
You will deal with internal and external people confidently. This happens through meetings, calls, and emails.
You will handle and organize important documents and emails for senior colleagues.
You will keep track of complicated, changing schedules. This way, team members can work well.
You will help run events like conferences, seminars, and meetings. You will make sure they go smoothly.
You will pitch in on bigger University events via the Executive and Governance Office. Think Open Days and Graduation ceremonies.
About You
You will be super organized. You can juggle lots of tasks in a quick-moving setting.
You will pay close attention to details and get things accurate.
You will have solid experience giving admin support in a hectic office.
You will show good problem-solving. You will use smart judgment.

You will keep accurate records for admin and finances.
Work Environment
This job is in the Executive and Governance Office. That is a key professional group at the University of Reading. Your main spot will be Whiteknights House. But you will move around campus where Agrifood Futures people are. You can work from home some of the week. It depends on what the operations need.
