EHS Engineer at GE Aerospace – Cardiff

Job Description:
About You:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in Environmental and/or Health & Safety roles
- Up-to-date knowledge of Environmental and Health & Safety legislation
- Understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Competent in IT with basic data analysis skills
- Experience in project work
- Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- A practical, solution-driven approach to problem-solving
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on EHS issues to ensure compliance with site safety regulations.
- Ensure project works meet CDM requirements where applicable.
- Oversee machine safety and PUWER compliance.
- Support and own elements of the GE EHS Management System, including EHS framework functions.
- Conduct compliance inspections and track findings to resolution, providing feedback to employees.
- Offer internal EHS support and leadership to assigned business operations.
- Develop and deliver EHS awareness training.
- Manage the safety risk assessment programme and PPE matrix development.
- Ensure compliance with Fire, Legionella, and asbestos risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, log cases, and manage corrective actions.
- Manage the radiation programme and liaise with the Radiation Protection Advisor.
- Collaborate with Industrial Hygienists to ensure compliance with work plans and assessments.
- Implement requirements for the hand-arm vibration programme, ensuring proper monitoring and training.
- Oversee the compliance calendar, ensuring tasks align with Global priorities and goals.
- Monitor contractor control activities, including reviewing risk assessments and method statements for compliance.
- Deputise for the EHS leader when required.
- Provide on-call support and ensure cover during non-operating hours.
