Overview of the Role

DBTH is seeking an experienced and proactive Digital Contract Manager to join our Digital Business Management team within the Digital Transformation Directorate. This pivotal role focuses on managing digital contracts, supporting frontline teams, and ensuring that digital solutions enhance patient safety, quality of care, and staff experience.

The Digital Contract Manager will oversee a portfolio of approximately 150 contracts, with ongoing plans for consolidation to achieve best value for the Trust. You will act as the key liaison with suppliers, internal stakeholders—including Information Asset Owners (IAOs), system managers, technical leads, clinical and administrative teams—and ensure contracts meet agreed KPIs and SLAs.

This hands-on role is ideal for candidates who are technically skilled, adaptable, and confident, able to work effectively at all levels, manage competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure while driving digital transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of digital contracts across the Trust, ensuring compliance, value, and efficiency
  • Hold regular supplier review meetings to monitor contract delivery and performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts support clinical and operational requirements
  • Support the Digitising Health Records programme to transition services towards paper-light, efficient workflows
  • Implement digital solutions, streamline processes, and embed sustainable change in partnership with clinical teams, digital colleagues, and Supplier Deployment Teams
  • Contribute to Trust-wide digital initiatives to improve patient care and staff efficiency

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven track record in digital contract management
  • Strong understanding of information management and technology
  • Ability to negotiate contracts to maximise value and ensure Trust compliance
  • Experience in reviewing and drafting digital contracts
  • Demonstrated success in current or prior roles

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in ICT procurement within the NHS
  • Experience managing the full procurement lifecycle from conception to implementation

Qualifications & Training

  • Degree in management, ICT, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • CIPS Level 4 with active professional registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
