Deputy Clinical Site Manager – Good Hope Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham

Good Hope Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham, is a forward-thinking, patient-centred healthcare facility located in the heart of Sutton Coldfield. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and driven Deputy Clinical Site Manager to join our dynamic team.

In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality clinical services across the hospital. Working closely with the Clinical Site Manager and senior management, you will support the operational efficiency and overall patient care experience at Good Hope Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day clinical capacity and patient flow across the site, including out-of-hours, weekends, nights, and Bank Holidays.

Provide senior nursing support and expert advice to all clinical areas within the Trust.

Act as a credible professional leader, offering support and guidance to Trust employees.

Contribute to managing both emergency and elective admission processes, ensuring safe and appropriate patient placement while achieving Trust targets.

Maintain contingency plans for emerging issues, ensuring safe patient care at all times.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Essential:

Registered 1st level Nurse with active NMC registration.

Significant experience in leading and managing teams in an acute healthcare setting.

Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and the ability to influence change.

Experience in capacity management within an acute care environment.

Effective planning, organisational, and decision-making skills, particularly in emergency situations.

Ability to work flexibly across days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Desirable:

Experience in multi-disciplinary and multi-professional collaborative working.

Ability to promote a professional nursing image and act as a positive role model.

Additional Criteria:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and resolve conflict effectively.

Ability to manage and prioritise work to meet objectives, ensuring efficient patient care and operational success.

Diplomatic and assertive with excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in clinical and managerial situations.
