About the Service:
Cwm Celyn is a 24-bed specialist facility for adults with long-term functional mental health conditions and/or complex physical needs. Located in Blaina, Abertillery, within the picturesque South Wales Valley, the facility is just 20 minutes from Abergavenny and an hour from Cardiff.
Key Duties:
- Provide the highest standard of care, assessing residents’ needs, and creating care plans to enhance their quality of life
- Encourage independence and personal choice, reviewing and updating care plans to meet physical, social, and psychological needs
- Manage all aspects of medication on your shift, ensuring proper storage and administration in line with company policies and legislation
- Maintain a positive reputation for the business by liaising professionally with visitors and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines, identifying and resolving risks proactively
- Support, guide, and mentor others in line with the NMC Code, following its guidance at all times
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to analyze problems and suggest improvements
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop professional relationships
- Proficiency in using IT and communication systems required for the role
- Respect for the values, views, and needs of others
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience in delivering nursing care in the elderly healthcare sector
- Experience in quality and clinical governance programs

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, shift times: 07:45-20:15
