About the Service:

Cwm Celyn is a 24-bed specialist facility for adults with long-term functional mental health conditions and/or complex physical needs. Located in Blaina, Abertillery, within the picturesque South Wales Valley, the facility is just 20 minutes from Abergavenny and an hour from Cardiff.

Key Duties:

• Provide the highest standard of care, assessing residents’ needs, and creating care plans to enhance their quality of life
• Encourage independence and personal choice, reviewing and updating care plans to meet physical, social, and psychological needs
• Manage all aspects of medication on your shift, ensuring proper storage and administration in line with company policies and legislation
• Maintain a positive reputation for the business by liaising professionally with visitors and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines, identifying and resolving risks proactively
• Support, guide, and mentor others in line with the NMC Code, following its guidance at all times

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to analyze problems and suggest improvements
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop professional relationships
• Proficiency in using IT and communication systems required for the role
• Respect for the values, views, and needs of others
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
• Experience in delivering nursing care in the elderly healthcare sector
• Experience in quality and clinical governance programs
