Job Description
The Role at a Glance
We are looking for a confident and data-driven Data and Enquiries Manager to lead a specialist team delivering a high-quality enquiry service to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In this role, you will combine people leadership, operational delivery, and analytical insight. You will oversee day-to-day enquiry handling across email and telephone channels, ensuring responses are accurate, timely, and consistently aligned with admissions policies and institutional standards.
Alongside service delivery, you will play a pivotal role in shaping recruitment activity. This includes planning and delivering call campaigns, supporting recruitment events, and overseeing enquiry registration processes to ensure data is captured accurately, securely, and in line with UK data protection legislation.
You will also work closely with senior colleagues by transforming complex pre-applicant and applicant data from multiple systems into clear, actionable reports that inform strategic decisions and continuous service improvement. While the role includes a strategic focus, it remains hands-on, and you will be expected to step in to support front-line enquiries when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop a small specialist enquiries team
- Maintain high standards of customer service across all enquiry channels
- Monitor and improve the quality, consistency, and accuracy of responses
- Plan and deliver recruitment initiatives, including call campaigns and events
- Ensure enquiry data is collected, stored, and processed in compliance with GDPR
- Analyse applicant and enquiry data to produce meaningful management insights
- Provide regular reports to support planning, recruitment, and service enhancement
- Balance strategic oversight with operational involvement when service demand requires
About You
You will be an experienced people manager with a strong analytical mindset and a genuine commitment to excellent customer service.
You are comfortable working with complex datasets from multiple systems, translating information into insights that support evidence-based decision-making. You either already possess, or are keen to develop, in-depth knowledge of undergraduate and postgraduate admissions and recruitment processes.
Highly organised and detail-focused, you are confident working within regulatory frameworks, particularly UK data protection requirements. You lead with empathy and clarity, supporting your team while remaining willing to handle enquiries directly when needed.
