This is an outstanding opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry to join a progressive and community-focused mental health service in Hampshire. Based at the Parkway Centre in Havant, you will provide consultant leadership to Community Mental Health Teams supporting adults across Havant and Waterlooville. You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, recovery-oriented care that makes a genuine difference to people’s lives.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry within the CMHT, you will play a key role in shaping care delivery and supporting the wider team.

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide senior psychiatric input for adults with a range of complex mental health needs in the community.
  • Lead holistic assessments and treatment planning, underpinned by recovery-focused and evidence-based practice.
  • Offer expert guidance on risk assessment and management, supporting safe and effective decision-making.

Teamwork and Service Improvement

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, promoting shared responsibility and professional development.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activity, with a focus on patient outcomes and experience.
  • Support a positive learning culture through supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice.

Professional Standards

  • Maintain practice in line with GMC guidance and national standards.
  • Ensure care aligns with Mental Health Act responsibilities and safeguarding frameworks.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent qualification
  • Eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT at interview
  • Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983
