About the Role
We are looking for caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic Clinical Support Workers to join the Emergency Department (ED) at Bassetlaw Hospital. This is a rewarding opportunity for motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality emergency care and supporting patients during critical times.
As a Clinical Support Worker in ED, you will work closely with the nursing and medical teams, contributing to the assessment, treatment, and care of patients presenting with a variety of emergency needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Provide clinical and personal care support to patients in the Emergency Department.
Assist with essential clinical procedures such as:
Venepuncture
ECG recording
Blood glucose monitoring
Basic plastering techniques (or willingness to train)
Support patients with daily care needs including:
Hygiene and toileting
Mobility
Nutrition and hydration
Uphold the privacy, dignity, and safety of patients at all times.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans under the supervision of clinical staff.
Work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
Remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced, emergency care environment.
About You – Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
Experience working in an acute hospital setting.
Minimum of a Level 2 Intermediate Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
Completion of the Care Certificate.
Certified competency in:
Vital signs monitoring
Venepuncture
Blood glucose testing
ECG recording
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Team-oriented with a compassionate and professional approach.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting.
Level 3 Advanced Health Care Support Worker Apprenticeship.
GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
Certified competence in plastering (or willingness to undergo training).
