About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organized individual to join our Clinical Skills and Simulation Team at NHS Lanark shire. As a Clinical Skills Technician, you will support the delivery of both new and existing clinical skills and simulation courses.
You will be responsible for preparing and setting up technical elements required for training sessions, including the use of medical equipment, task trainers, computer-based simulators, and audiovisual technology. You’ll work under the guidance of the Clinical Skills Consultant and Clinical Skills Specialists as part of the wider medical education team.
This is a hands-on, rewarding role ideal for someone with technical aptitude and a keen interest in medical education and simulation.
Key Responsibilities

Set up and maintain simulation equipment, clinical models, and IT systems

Prepare and organize resources for daily training sessions

Support the delivery and development of clinical skills programmers

Operate audiovisual equipment used during simulation and training

Ensure effective use of materials and equipment

Work closely with educators and clinical staff to ensure smooth delivery of courses

Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of simulation technology

Contribute to the continual improvement of the training environment
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
-
HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Information Management & Technology (IM&T) or related subject plus 2 years’ relevant experience; OR equivalent technical/clinical experience

Previous experience working in a healthcare or medical education setting

Strong IT skills across multiple software packages
-
Excellent organizational and planning abilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

A keen interest in clinical simulation is essential

A full and valid UK/EU/EEA driving license is required
Location and Flexibility

Main base: Medical Education, Kirk lands (NHSL HQ)
