About the Role:

NHS Lanark shire is seeking a Clinical Skills Technician to support the delivery of clinical skills and simulation-based training within our Medical Education department. You will work as part of a dedicated team to set up and operate equipment for a variety of clinical training sessions, ensuring resources are available, functional, and appropriately prepared for use.

The successful candidate will:

  • Assist with setting up and operating simulation and clinical skills equipment such as part-task trainers, high-fidelity manikins, IT-based simulators, and medical instruments.

  • Support the development and delivery of clinical skills programmers and training events.

  • Work under the guidance of the Clinical Skills Consultant and Clinical Skills Specialists.

  • Ensure the effective use and maintenance of simulation and technical resources.

  • Play a vital role in maintaining a smooth-running training environment for healthcare professionals and students.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Requirements:

  • Educational background:

    • HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Information Management & Technology (IM&T), or equivalent qualification/experience.

  • Relevant experience:

    • At least 2 years of experience working in a healthcare or technical setting.

  • Skills and Attributes:

    • Good communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong planning and organizational abilities.

    • Team player with the ability to work independently.

    • Computer literacy across a range of software packages.

    • Interest in simulation-based healthcare education (essential).

  • Driving license:

    • A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license is required.

Location and Working Pattern:

This post is based at Kirkland – NHSL Headquarters. Please note that while this vacancy is for a specific location, successful applicants may be considered for similar roles in other NHS Lanark shire sites.
