Job Description

About the Opportunity

This fixed-term post offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to develop specialist skills within Neurodevelopmental Services, while contributing meaningfully to the care of children, young people, and their families.

You will join a well-established, community-based multi-disciplinary team that values collaboration, reflective practice, and innovation. The service is continuously evolving in response to local need, creating genuine opportunities to influence service development and shape future care pathways.

This role is particularly well suited to a psychologist who enjoys balancing direct clinical work with leadership, supervision, and system-wide thinking.

Your Role

Working across community settings, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention to young people and their families. Alongside direct clinical care, you will support the wider team through consultation, supervision, and training.

You will be fully supported through regular, high-quality supervision from the Consultant Psychologist and benefit from a strong psychology network across both the Trust and the CAMHS directorate.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver specialist psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions
  • Formulate presentations systemically, considering family, educational, and wider contextual factors
  • Offer consultation, advice, and supervision to MDT colleagues
  • Contribute to training and professional development within the service
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies across health, education, and social care
  • Support carers and staff exposed to distressing or complex situations

Essential

  • Experience working with children, young people, or adults with mental health and/or learning disability needs (depending on service focus)
  • Effective practice within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Competence in risk assessment, formulation, and management

Desirable

  • Involvement in audit, service evaluation, or research activity

You will be able to:
