Job Description

Exciting Opportunity: Allied Health Professional (AHP) in Cancer Care

We’re looking for a dedicated and passionate Allied Health Professional with expertise in cancer care to join our team on a 15-month fixed-term contract or secondment. This role has been created to support ongoing enhancements in how we deliver services to patients.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll need to be fully registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and bring specialist skills in supporting people affected by cancer. Ideal candidates will show:

  • A strong commitment to cancer care
  • Outstanding abilities in research, clinical audits, service improvement, and communicating with patients and colleagues
  • A real drive to help patients manage their treatment at home and maintain their quality of life

In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with the Macmillan One to One team, based at Airth Health Centre, to provide seamless, person-centred support.

Essential Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel across the Forth Valley area to deliver services effectively
  • Membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required – visit www.disclosurescotland.co.uk for details

Secondment Information

If you’re a current permanent NHS employee interested in a secondment, please speak with your current line manager first. You’ll need to complete the secondment request form (available on the HR/Recruitment intranet pages, along with the full policy) and get it signed before attending an interview. Bring the approved form with you as proof of agreement.

Visa and Sponsorship

If you need sponsorship to work in the UK, check the eligibility rules for Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker visas on the UK Government website. NHS Forth Valley may sponsor suitable roles that meet salary and other criteria, but this is decided case-by-case after interview and pre-employment checks – it’s not automatic.

We also suggest overseas applicants for health and social care roles review the GOV.UK guidance: Applying for health and social care jobs in the UK from abroad

Application Guidance

Please ensure all responses in your application are original and genuinely reflect your own experience, skills, and knowledge. We discourage using AI tools, automated software, or third-party help to write or heavily edit your answers. Applications must be your personal work, and any breach could lead to withdrawal from the process.

Most updates will come via email, so keep an eye on your inbox (and junk folder) as well as your Jobtrain account.

Our Commitments

NHS Forth Valley welcomes applications from everyone and is proud to guarantee an interview for disabled candidates who meet the essential criteria. If you need any adjustments for your application or interview, call the Recruitment Office on 0330 041 4694.
