Business Intelligence Analyst(UK Visa Sponsorship)

Job Description

Role Overview

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Business Intelligence Analyst to support two nationally funded transformation programmes: the Internal Medicine Strategic Network (IMSN) and the Neurosciences and Trauma Strategic Network.

These Strategic Networks are funded by NHS England and are in an early, formative phase of development. This role offers a rare opportunity to help design how intelligence, analytics, and performance insight are embedded into large-scale service transformation across specialised care.

You will play a pivotal role in turning complex data into meaningful intelligence that informs clinical decision-making, service planning, and system-wide improvement across internal medicine, neurosciences, and trauma pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Intelligence, Analysis & Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data flows to support planning, performance monitoring, and improvement activity across both Strategic Networks.
  • Lead the production of high-quality analytical outputs, including dashboards, reports, and deep-dive analyses for clinical and senior stakeholders.
  • Interpret complex qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, variation, risks, and opportunities for service improvement.

Service Improvement & Transformation Support

  • Provide analytical leadership to support pathway redesign, capacity and demand modelling, and option appraisal.
  • Work closely with clinical leaders, operational managers, and commissioners to ensure intelligence supports evidence-based decision-making.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new models of care, ensuring benefits are identified, measured, and reported.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Communicate complex and sometimes sensitive information clearly to a wide range of audiences, including large multidisciplinary groups.
  • Support collaborative working across organisations, systems, and professional boundaries.
  • Act as a trusted analytical partner to network leads and programme teams.

Planning, Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support effective resource planning and contribute to budget monitoring where required.
  • Ensure analytical work aligns with national information governance, data quality, and confidentiality standards.
  • Continuously improve analytical methods and reporting approaches to meet evolving organisational and network needs.
