About the Role
Dowty Propeller is seeking a skilled Blade Operator to join our manufacturing team, playing a key role in the production, repair, and overhaul of high-quality composite propeller blades. The successful candidate will work on either a permanent shift or rotating shift pattern, executing manual processes with a strong focus on precision, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
As a Blade Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Composite Bonding: Performing bonding processes with attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
- Polyurethane Coating & Finishing: Spraying, painting, and finishing blades to the required specifications.
- Repairs & Overhaul: Undertaking repair work to ensure propeller blades meet operational standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency, and product quality.
- Quality, Health & Safety: Monitoring and taking accountability for quality, environmental compliance, and workplace safety.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively and take ownership of quality and safety standards.
- Flexibility: Willingness to learn new skills and work across multiple cells within the production environment.
- Process Improvement: Motivation to suggest and implement improvements in manufacturing processes.
- Production Experience: Familiarity with flow-line production and material processing techniques.
- Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and precision in handling components.
