Job Summary

We are looking for reliable, flexible, and hardworking individuals to join our Facilities Services team at Arnold Lodge. This role involves working across both domestic and catering services within a secure mental health hospital environment. You’ll be part of a dedicated team providing essential services that support patient care.

Arnold Lodge is a medium secure forensic mental health hospital in Leicester, managed by Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We care for individuals referred from other secure hospitals or the prison service and provide highly specialized mental health care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in ward and department areas

Support meal service on wards, ensuring meals are delivered safely and in line with dietary needs

Adhere to food hygiene, infection control, and health & safety regulations

Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Provide a high level of customer service to staff, patients, and visitors

Demonstrate flexibility in shift patterns, including weekend and Bank Holiday cover

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

Understanding of cleaning and hygiene standards

Good communication skills

Basic literacy and numeracy

Ability to follow instructions

Willingness to undertake mandatory and role-specific training

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Flexible in managing work duties and time

Desirable:

Previous experience in cleaning, catering, or portering

Experience in a healthcare setting

Understanding of food safety and experience with food safety management systems

Recognised support services qualification

This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check due to its nature.

You will need to comply with the Trust’s uniform and PPE standards.

Candidates with no prior NHS experience will usually start on the lowest point of the pay band.
