About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Intensive Rehabilitation Service (IRS). The IRS is a dynamic, multidisciplinary community team made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Rehabilitation Assistants.

Our service provides an innovative alternative to hospital-based rehabilitation, supporting early discharge from inpatient care and enabling patients to receive intensive, person-centered rehabilitation within their own homes.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where you will play a key role in improving patient outcomes and supporting recovery in the community.

Main Responsibilities

Carry out specialist and comprehensive assessments, using clinical reasoning and appropriate techniques.

Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.

Work closely with inpatient rehabilitation services, acute care teams, and other NELFT services to support safe and timely discharges.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Contribute to high-quality service delivery, which operates 365 days a year.

Support training, education, and supervision within the team.

High-Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) of 15% of basic salary (minimum £4,714 to maximum £5,941 per annum pro rata).

About You

Essential requirements:

Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.

Strong clinical skills and knowledge of current OT best practice.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to lead, organize, and contribute within a multi-professional team.

Desirable:

RCOT membership.

Previous community experience.

IT and administration skills.

Car driver.

Additional Information

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
