Job Description

Please note that in order to process your application, your data will be handled by our third-party recruitment provider, North London Partners Shared Service, who manage recruitment on behalf of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK and a global leader in the field. We offer a dynamic working environment, where we support our frontline staff in implementing improvements to achieve our vision of being a world-leading neuro-musculoskeletal hospital. We are committed to providing the best patient care, exceptional staff experience, world-class research, and a strong foundation for education, training, and career development. Our diverse workforce brings a wealth of expertise that directly benefits our patients, allowing us to deliver some of the world’s most complex and innovative care.

We are proud to be rated “Good” by the CQC, with two locations—one in central London and one in Stanmore. Our new Stanmore Building, a state-of-the-art inpatient facility, has recently opened.

Our Research and Innovation Centre works closely with our academic partner, University College London, and we are recognized as a centre of excellence, leading national initiatives such as the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) Programme. Ongoing redevelopment at the Stanmore site aims to further modernize our facilities, ensuring we remain the UK’s leading center for orthopaedic medicine.

In the latest NHS staff survey, over 90% of our staff expressed satisfaction with the quality of care they provide to patients, the best result of any NHS Trust. Our staff also reported the best experience of appraisals compared to other NHS Trusts.

This is an exciting time to join us and play an integral role in RNOH’s journey toward achieving an outstanding CQC rating. Our goal is to continue being a world-leading orthopaedic hospital that excels in patient care and staff experience. Our work is guided by four core values:

  • Patients first, always
  • Excellence in all we do
  • Trust, honesty, and respect for each other
  • Equality for all

Our annual staff surveys show consistent improvement, with staff increasingly reporting a better experience working at the Trust. They also demonstrate strong loyalty and commitment to RNOH’s role in delivering top-tier care for our complex patient group. We look forward to welcoming you to our growing team.

We are committed to equal opportunities and offer flexible working options. We welcome part-time and job share applications.

We also invite applications from individuals who require sponsorship to work in the UK. Please ensure you are eligible under the UKVI points-based system before applying to avoid disappointment.

By submitting your application, you consent to RNOH transferring your details to our preferred applicant management system. All future communication regarding your application will be handled via apps.trac.jobs, and we will not be able to respond to emails sent through the NHS Jobs website. If you are offered a position, your details will be transferred into the NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system and other secure NHS workforce systems.

Additionally, by applying, you accept that, if successful, your personal data may be transferred to another NHS organisation should your employment transfer within the NHS. This process is part of the streamlining programme, which aims to improve efficiency and save time when transitioning employment within the NHS. We encourage you to complete your e-learning modules prior to joining our organisation.

Please note that we may close vacancies early if we receive a sufficient number of applications.
