The Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding academic in Computer Systems and Networks at either Lecturer or Associate Professor level. This is a permanent faculty position for a researcher and educator eager to shape the future of systems and networking research while contributing meaningfully to teaching and academic leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Education

You will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Contribute to curriculum development in computer systems, networking, and related areas
  • Supervise undergraduate, MSc, MPhil, MRes, PhD, and EngD students
  • Support innovative and inclusive teaching practices aligned with UCL’s educational framework

Research & Scholarly Activity

You will:

  • Conduct internationally recognised research in computer systems and networking
  • Publish in leading peer-reviewed venues
  • Secure external research funding from UK and international sources
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations across UCL and beyond
  • Engage actively with the wider academic and professional community

Academic Service & Leadership

You will:

About You

Essential Criteria

You will demonstrate:

  • A PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
  • Strong expertise in computer systems and/or networking
  • An active and growing research profile
  • Evidence of engagement with the scholarly or professional community
  • The ability to contribute across teaching, research, and academic service

Career Stage

Appointments may be made at Lecturer (Grade 8) or Associate Professor (Grade 9) level, depending on experience, research maturity, and leadership contribution.
