About the Role
UCL’s Department of Computer Science invites applications for a permanent academic position in Systems and Networks at Lecturer or Associate Professor level.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant research and teaching environment, with the freedom to develop an independent research agenda while collaborating across UCL’s extensive interdisciplinary network.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, student supervision, and academic leadership within the areas of computer systems and networking, while engaging with the wider academic and professional community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Design, update, and contribute to modules within Systems and Networks
- Develop and sustain an active, internationally recognised research programme
- Publish research outcomes in leading journals and conferences
- Secure external research funding as principal or co-investigator
- Supervise undergraduate, Master’s, and doctoral research students
- Participate in departmental administration and academic service
- Engage with national and international research communities
About You
You will be an enthusiastic academic with a strong foundation in computer systems and networking, capable of contributing both depth and breadth to UCL’s teaching and research mission.
Essential Criteria
- PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated research activity in computer systems and/or networking
- Evidence of engagement with the scholarly or professional community
- Ability to contribute effectively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
