The Role
We are looking to appoint several Associate Lecturers to join our academic team in the field of Food and Nutrition. These positions offer a great opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality, applied teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
As an Associate Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and evidence-based teaching, supporting students in both face-to-face and online formats. You will also contribute to assessment and module delivery, ensuring the curriculum remains current, research-informed, and aligned with industry needs and public health priorities.
We welcome applicants from academic, clinical, or industry backgrounds who are passionate about nutrition education and want to help shape the next generation of food and nutrition professionals.
Areas of Specialism
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in two or more of the following subject areas:
Human nutrition, physiology, and biochemistry
Nutrition across the life course
Nutritional science and dietary assessment
Food science, quality assurance, and sustainability
Food labelling, regulation, and packaging
About the Department
You’ll join a dynamic, supportive teaching team within Sheffield Business School, part of a leading applied business school with over 6,000 students and 220 staff. We pride ourselves on delivering industry-relevant, accredited programmes that prepare students for successful careers in the nutrition and food industries.
Our program are accredited by the Association for Nutrition (AfN) and the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST), ensuring high academic and professional standards.
We also offer a Food Technical Professional Higher Degree Apprenticeship, developed in close collaboration with major food retailers and manufacturers, giving students real-world insights and excellent employability outcomes.
