About the Role

Sussex Law School, part of the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, is seeking an enthusiastic early-career academic to join our team. This balanced role (60% teaching, 20% scholarship, 20% administration/citizenship) involves teaching and assessing undergraduate (LLB) and, where appropriate, postgraduate (MA/LLM) students.

You will contribute to high-quality, inclusive teaching while developing your scholarship in law or legal education. The post follows the Education and Scholarship pathway, with mentoring and research support available. New lecturers benefit from a reduced teaching load during probation and time to complete a recognized HE teaching qualification if not already held.

About You

PhD in Law (or near completion).

Passion for high-quality teaching and student support.

Ability to inspire and engage students across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Commitment to inclusive teaching and innovation in pedagogy.

Willingness to develop scholarship in legal education or a sub-discipline.
