About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Band 7 Dietitian to join the Home Enteral Feeding (HEF) and Nutritional Support Team within East Cheshire NHS Trust. This is a permanent, full-time position, although part-time, job share, and flexible working arrangements are welcomed and encouraged.

You’ll work as an Advanced Clinical Specialist, leading on the triage, assessment, and management of patients requiring HEF and community nutritional support. The role also includes clinical leadership, caseload management, service development, and mentorship of junior staff.

This is an excellent opportunity to further develop specialist expertise in enteral feeding and nutrition support, within a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Provide advanced clinical expertise in the assessment and management of HEF and nutritional support patients in the community.

Lead a specialist caseload of complex cases, including patients with dementia and other comorbidities.

Support the operational delivery and development of the HEF and nutritional support services.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review diagnostic information and make appropriate referrals and care plans.

Act as a line manager and clinical supervisor for junior staff within the HEF and nutritional support team.

Contribute to service audits, research, and ongoing quality improvement projects.

Ensure safe, timely, and effective care planning, including patient discharge and transitions of care.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Registration

HCPC registered Dietitian

Relevant degree in Dietetics or equivalent

Evidence of postgraduate study at master’s level in a relevant specialist area

Clinical Educator qualification

Active membership of relevant professional bodies and specialist interest groups

Essential Experience

Significant post-registration experience within NHS dietetics across a range of specialisms

Proven clinical expertise in managing HEF and community nutrition support patients

Experience in clinical leadership and mentoring of staff

Experience in service development, audits, and/or research activities

Demonstrated involvement in teaching and staff development

Essential Knowledge and Skills

Up-to-date knowledge of relevant NHS legislation and clinical guidelines

Awareness of national and local priorities in nutrition and dietetic services

Ability to lead, supervise and support junior colleagues

Strong organisational, prioritisation, and autonomous working skills

Excellent communication and decision-making abilities

Ability to work under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

Critical appraisal and evidence-based practice skills

Experience in delivering presentations or training sessions

Previous project leadership experience

Additional Requirements

Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required for this role. Costs are payable by the successful candidate.

Applicants who have lived or worked overseas for 6+ months in the past 5 years must provide an international police clearance.
