About the Role
We are seeking an Academic Associate in Computer Science to join the Department of Computer Science at Nottingham Trent University. This unique role combines part-time lecturing with part-time PhD study, providing an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop their academic career.
The post holder will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while pursuing a PhD in Computer Science within one of our established research areas. Candidates are expected to propose their own research project, aligning with the department’s research strengths in:
Interactive Systems
Computational Intelligence
Pervasive Computing
Cybersecurity
As part of the selection process, shortlisted applicants will deliver a 5-minute presentation outlining their proposed PhD project.
About the Department
The Department of Computer Science sits within NTU’s School of Science and Technology, a multidisciplinary hub for research and teaching with some of the best facilities in the UK.
The department has 70 academic staff and around 25 PhD students, supported by large undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts.
Research is delivered through the Computing and Informatics Research Centre (CIRC), with a strong record of internationally significant output.

PhD Tuition Fees: Tuition fees are not covered for international students.
Combined Role: Candidates must undertake both the lecturing and PhD elements of the post; applications for only one element will not be considered.
