February 11, 2025
£30 - £36 / year

Job Description

Are you passionate about Community Nursing? Ready to try something new? No previous community experience required!

At UHB, we listen to what our teams need, and we’re here to offer a work environment that fits your lifestyle. Whether you’re seeking flexible hours that work around family commitments—such as school hours, weekends only, or condensed shifts—or simply want to stay connected to nursing with one shift per week, we’ve got you covered. What we ask in return is that you provide the best care for our patients and collaborate with our teams to maintain safety and compliance.

We offer a clear and exciting career development pathway, with opportunities to progress to a Band 6 Deputy District Nurse position. This role allows you to develop your clinical, leadership, and theoretical skills in District Nursing practice.

Joining UHB means you’ll be supported by our teams and managers, alongside resources from our School of Nursing, AHPs, and Midwifery. Our school is dedicated to providing exciting career growth opportunities, ensuring a supportive environment for your ongoing professional development.

We want you to feel a sense of belonging, community, and support.

Main Duties, Tasks, and Skills Required:

As part of the District Nursing team, you will provide evidence-based care to patients with complex needs in their own homes. Our teams work closely with specialist nurses, GPs, therapists, and social workers to deliver collaborative care and prevent avoidable hospital admissions.

We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative individuals who can embrace the challenges of an evolving primary care setting. Don’t worry if you don’t have previous community experience—full training and support will be provided to the right candidates.

Our trust offers an excellent preceptorship program, along with a local community services induction and a buddy mentor for added support.

To meet the needs of this service, flexibility is key. You must be able to work between 07:00 and 23:00 on a rota basis over seven days and be able to drive. We are committed to flexible working and will consider arrangements to suit your work-life balance.

We have full and part-time positions available in North (Chelmsley Wood), Central (Solihull), and Balsall Common (Rural).

Job Requirements:
