Head Chef – Langdon House Care Home

As the Head Chef at Langdon House Care Home, you will be in charge of overseeing and delivering the entire catering service within the home, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service for our residents.

Langdon House is a distinguished residential care home located in the peaceful area of Chesterton, just three miles from the heart of Cambridge. We take great pride in our welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere, our beautiful gardens, and, most importantly, the exceptional care we provide to each of our 51 residents.

About the Role:
As Head Chef, your key responsibility is to ensure that all meals served within the home are of the highest standard. You will lead and manage the kitchen team while working collaboratively with other service teams to maintain top-notch service standards. You’ll also oversee meal preparation, ensuring that the dietary needs of all residents are met with care and attention.

We are able to sponsor visas for this position.

Salary:
£16.50 per hour (equivalent to £32,604 per annum)

Shift Pattern:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, with no late nights or split shifts and every other weekend off.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the catering services and dining experiences are consistently of the highest standard.
• Lead and manage the kitchen team, including recruitment, performance appraisals, rota planning, and absence management.
• Promote choice and dignity for our residents through the services we provide, catering to their individual nutritional needs and preferences.
• Adhere to all relevant food safety and health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Training, Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience as a Head Chef is essential.
• Experience within a care environment is advantageous.
• A proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team effectively.
• Must be able to travel between the home and other locations as needed.
