Summary
Would you like to get a BEng (Hons) Engineering: Design and Manufacturing qualification while working with an experienced engineering team? GE Caledonian is a maintenance, repair, and overhaul provider in a developing market that is constantly investing in cutting-edge technologies. As a member of the Engineering Team, you will report to the Engineering Leader and be exposed to all elements of the business, from hands-on experience to supporting design teams across a diversified global engineering group. During this four-year fixed-term contract, you will visit Strathclyde University on a monthly basis and engage in their Graduate Apprenticeship programme, where you will be expected to make good progress towards obtaining a BEng (Hons) in Design and Manufacturing.

Roles and responsibilities
- Championing important site deliverables such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Maintain a culture of continual improvement and the application of Lean principles.
- Develop understanding in all parts of the Engineering Team, including task scope, shop operations, repair, assembly, and engine testing.
- Work closely with the SPO team, EH&S, Maintenance, Operations, and NPI Project Leader to ensure that projects and minor site adjustments meet GE Aviation Management of Change criteria.
- Use your knowledge and skills to finish out audit findings and quality reports via RCCA.
- Learn about technical documentation to ensure quality and efficiency throughout procedures.
- Participate in the site’s general engineering activities and challenges, including the current daily shop management structure.
- It is expected that the scope of this function expand as the successful candidate’s expertise and experience grow.
- Show good progress towards BEng (Hons) in Design and Manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
Applicants will have four Highers (minimum B grades), including Mathematics and Physics.
Eligibility
To qualify for full GA financing, the applicants:
- Must have settled status and reside in the United Kingdom (UK), Channel Islands, or Isle of Man.
- Must have lived in one of these locations for the three years preceding the start of the course.
- Must also be living (or generally resident) in Scotland on or before August 1st.
