Join the experienced emergency and critical care team at Medivet Thurmaston 24-Hour Hospital, where advanced clinical care meets a supportive and collaborative working culture.
This opportunity is ideal for a confident Veterinary Surgeon with previous sole-charge experience who enjoys emergency medicine and is looking for a flexible weekend position. You’ll work just 13 weekends per year, covering Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 7pm.
Our recently upgraded hospital supports both Medivet and external practices during out-of-hours periods and has built a strong reputation within the local community for delivering exceptional patient care.

Your Key Responsibilities
- As part of the weekend emergency team, you will:
- Provide outstanding emergency and critical care services
- Manage consultations, diagnostics, and surgical cases independently
- Create practical and compassionate treatment plans for clients
- Maintain high clinical and professional standards
- Collaborate closely with nurses and support teams
- Contribute positively to the wider Medivet clinical community
Who We’re Looking For
- We’d love to hear from Veterinary Surgeons who:
- Hold MRCVS status or are eligible to register in the UK
- Are confident working in a sole-charge environment
- Have a strong interest in ECC and patient-focused care
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Thrive in a team-oriented hospital setting
