At Sutton 24-Hour Hospital, you will become part of a highly skilled and welcoming team dedicated to delivering exceptional overnight emergency and critical care services across London.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Night Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality emergency and critical care during out-of-hours operations. Working alongside an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), you will manage a varied caseload while ensuring the highest standards of patient welfare and client communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding emergency and critical care consultations and surgical procedures
    Develop personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient
    Work independently in a sole-charge ECC setting with full hospital support
    Maintain excellent clinical and regulatory standards
    Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners
    Contribute positively to the wider veterinary team and clinical culture

Working Pattern

  • 1 week on, 2 weeks off rotation
    Dedicated overnight ECC role
    Sole-charge position with strong clinical backup and nursing support
    Excellent work-life balance for experienced ECC professionals

About You

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who thrives in emergency practice and enjoys working within a collaborative hospital environment.

Requirements

  • Qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
    Previous ECC or emergency veterinary experience
    Strong surgical and medical decision-making skills
    Confident working independently overnight
    Passion for patient care and clinical excellence
    Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
