About the Opportunity
The Admissions Team at the University of Sussex is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Admissions Systems Manager to support the ongoing development and day-to-day management of admissions systems and processes.
Working closely with the Senior Admissions Systems Manager, you will help ensure the smooth operation of systems that support applicant admissions across the university. The role combines operational oversight, stakeholder collaboration, process improvement, and systems testing within a fast-paced higher education environment.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support the daily administration and operational performance of admissions systems
Assist with system enhancement requests and contribute to technical specifications
Test developments and upgrades before implementation
Review current admissions workflows and identify opportunities for improvement
Maintain accurate records and audit trails of system changes
Work with colleagues across departments to gather and communicate business requirements
Provide support to system users with varying levels of technical understanding
Help manage competing priorities during busy admissions periods
You will also act as a key point of contact between operational teams and technical stakeholders, ensuring systems effectively support university objectives.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
Recent experience working within university admissions, scholarships, enquiry management, or CAS compliance
Strong organisational and workload management skills
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to complete repetitive tasks accurately
Confidence working across multiple systems and projects simultaneously
Effective communication skills, including the ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements
A solution-focused mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes and user experience
Experience supporting admissions technology or student administration systems would be highly advantageous.
