This is a rewarding opportunity for a Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner who wants to make a real difference in the lives of people living with severe mental illness. Working within a supportive Community Mental Health Team, you’ll play an important role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care in a structured clinical setting.
About the role
Based at Glanville House in Bridgwater, you’ll support a range of specialist clinics including Depot, Clozapine, and Wellbeing services. You’ll work with patients who have complex mental health needs, helping to monitor their condition, support treatment plans, and promote overall wellbeing.
While you’ll work independently at times, you’ll always have guidance and support from Registered Nurses and a wider multidisciplinary team.
Your key responsibilities
 Clinical care
- Support the delivery of Depot, Clozapine, and Wellbeing Clinics
Carry out venepuncture and physical health checks
Monitor both mental and physical health, escalating concerns when needed
Assist with medication processes, including ordering and preparation
Provide practical and emotional support to patients
 Teamwork & communication
- Work closely with nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
 Organisation & governance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Follow policies on infection control, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Support audits, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities
Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organised clinical environment
 Learning & development
- Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development
Support students or junior staff where appropriate
Work within your professional scope in line with the NMC Code

What we’re looking for
Essential qualifications
- Foundation Degree or Level 5 qualification in Healthcare
Registered Nursing Associate (NMC registered)
Competency in core clinical skills relevant to the role
Experience & skills
- Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of the link between physical and mental health
Commitment to delivering person-centred, holistic care
