About the Role
The University College London is seeking a motivated Clinical Research Fellow to join its internationally recognised Dementia Research Centre (DRC).
This is a unique opportunity for a clinician interested in academic medicine to contribute to cutting-edge dementia research while maintaining clinical involvement. The role bridges clinical neurology, imaging, and population-based research, offering excellent exposure to translational science.
You will work across multiple leading institutions, including the Dementia Research Centre and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, contributing to both research and clinical activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Research & Clinical Work
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments of research participants
Contribute to a major longitudinal study involving the 1958 British birth cohort
Support advanced imaging procedures (e.g. PET/CT scans)
Collect and manage biological samples for genetic and biomarker analysis
Participate in data cleaning, management, and analysis
Collaboration & Academic Development
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across UCL and partner institutes
Engage with experts in neurology, imaging, and population health
Contribute to research publications and outputs
Opportunity to enrol in a part-time PhD alongside the role
About You
This position is ideal for clinicians aiming to build a career in academic neurology, psychiatry, or neuroscience.
Essential Requirements
- Registered medical practitioner with a licence to practise in the UK
MRCP qualification (or international equivalent)
Clinical experience at SHO/ST2 level or above in neurology or related specialty
Experience performing lumbar punctures
Strong academic background with evidence of excellence

Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: £51,140 – £78,670 per annum (including London Allowance)
