 The Role: Practical, Hands-On, and Rewarding
You’ll focus primarily on out-of-hours (OOH) farm emergencies, supporting farmers during critical moments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing urgent farm cases, particularly calvings, lambings, and obstetric emergencies
Handling acute livestock conditions independently
Building trusted relationships with local farmers and colleagues
Delivering reliable, timely care that supports farm productivity and animal welfare
The workload naturally varies throughout the year. Spring tends to be busier, while quieter periods allow for valuable rest and recovery.

Respond to cases from home, or

This role is built around adaptability. The employer is open to designing a rota that works for you.
Examples include:
- 1 week on / 1 week off
2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Custom patterns based on discussion
There is also the option to:
- Include daytime clinical work during off weeks
Focus entirely on OOH if preferred
