About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work as an Out-of-Hours (OOH) Veterinary Surgeon with Seafield Vets, supporting farming communities across Moray.

The role focuses on emergency farm and equine care, allowing daytime teams to concentrate on routine and preventative work. You’ll become a key part of the Farm24 service, delivering essential veterinary support when it’s needed most.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to farm and equine emergencies across the region
  • Deliver high-quality veterinary care during out-of-hours periods
  • Perform emergency procedures, including obstetric interventions
  • Provide advice and reassurance to farmers and clients
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and follow best practice standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of care

 Work Pattern & Flexibility

This role is designed with wellbeing in mind:

  • 1 week on / 3 weeks off rota (primary option)
  • Alternative: 1 week on / 1 week off (adjusted salary)

Shifts:

  • Monday–Thursday: 6:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Friday–Monday: Continuous weekend cover
  • You’ll have 3 weeks free out of every 4, giving you time to rest, travel, or pursue personal interests.
