Overview of the Role
Medivet is seeking an experienced Area Veterinary Surgeon to support and guide a network of veterinary practices across the Chelmsford region. This position is ideal for a veterinary professional who enjoys combining hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities and professional mentoring.
As an Area Vet, you will play an important role in maintaining high clinical standards across multiple practices while supporting veterinary teams with guidance, training, and professional development. The role offers variety and influence, allowing you to contribute directly to the quality of care delivered to patients and clients across the region.
Key Responsibilities
This role blends clinical practice with strategic oversight. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Delivering high-quality veterinary care through consultations, diagnosis, and surgical procedures
- Supporting veterinary surgeons and nurses within the practice cluster through mentorship and clinical guidance
- Helping implement consistent clinical governance and best practice standards across multiple practices
- Assisting with staff training and professional development initiatives
- Encouraging collaboration between teams to ensure excellent patient care and client satisfaction
- Contributing to service improvements and operational efficiency within the cluster
