Role Overview
HT Practice is inviting applications from an enthusiastic and adaptable Salaried General Practitioner to join our network of supportive practices across Tameside.
This permanent GP role offers flexibility to work 4, 6, or 8 sessions per week, with the opportunity to develop a varied portfolio career while delivering high-quality patient care within a safe and well-supported clinical environment.
The position is primarily based at The Highlands Surgery, with occasional sessions across partner practices to provide clinical cover when required.
Practice Network
You will be part of an established group of practices, including:
- The Highlands Surgery
- Medlock Vale
- King Street Medical Centre
- West End Medical Centre
These sites work collaboratively, sharing resources and clinical expertise while maintaining welcoming, patient-focused environments.
What This Role Offers

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Work
- Deliver routine GP consultations, both face-to-face and remote
- Review blood results, hospital correspondence, and clinical documentation
- Provide continuity of care to registered patients
- Manage acute and chronic conditions in line with best practice guidance
Network Support
- Provide short-term clinical cover across partner practices when colleagues are on leave
- Assist practices with temporary workforce needs
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Clinical Governance & Administration
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMIS and Docman
- Participate in audits, learning events, and quality improvement activities
- Follow national and local prescribing and clinical guidelines
- Contribute to maintaining safe and effective service delivery

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Registration
- Full General Medical Council (GMC) registration with licence to practise
- Completion of MRCGP training (or expected completion soon)
- Included on, or eligible for, the NHS England GP Performers List
- Recent experience in UK General Practice
- Strong clinical, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Competence using clinical IT systems such as EMIS and Docman
- Doctors practising in the UK must maintain appropriate professional registration and meet revalidation requirements set by the regulator.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working across multiple GP sites or networks
- Special clinical interests (e.g. women’s health, minor surgery, palliative care, teaching)
- Experience in education, mentoring, or training environments
- Additional qualifications relevant to primary care
