About the Role

The School of Biological Sciences is seeking a highly organised and reliable Executive Support Administrator to provide professional administrative and financial support to the School’s leadership and academic community.

Working as part of a small, supportive Executive Support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the School. This is a busy, office-based position suited to someone who enjoys variety, accuracy, and working collaboratively in a higher education environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include a broad range of administrative and financial support activities, such as:

  • Providing high-quality administrative support to senior staff and committees
  • Supporting financial processes, including purchasing, invoicing, and budget monitoring
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with University procedures
  • Handling enquiries professionally and delivering excellent customer service
  • Using a range of IT systems to support reporting, scheduling, and communications
  • Managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

About You

You will be well suited to this role if you can demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a busy administrative or executive support role
  • Familiarity with financial systems, ideally within a UK higher education or comparable environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Confident customer service skills and a professional approach
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
