Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Facilities Site Manager to join our Estates and Facilities Directorate, working within Hotel Services. This is a key operational leadership role, responsible for overseeing site management arrangements across multiple Trust locations within your area of responsibility.
You’ll play an essential part in ensuring that non-clinical services directly support safe, high-quality patient care — from cleanliness and catering to logistics and hospitality standards.
About the role
Based at Acklam Road Hospital, you’ll provide Trust-wide oversight and leadership of Hotel Services, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely, and consistently across sites. The role requires flexibility, including late shifts, to support effective monitoring and service assurance.

Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day management of Hotel Services teams, including supervisors, administrative staff, and courier services
- Ensure services meet legislative requirements, national standards, Trust policies, and Hospitality Assured expectations
- Monitor performance, quality, and compliance across all assigned sites
- Manage budgets effectively and contribute to service planning and development
- Lead and support teams through change, embedding a culture of accountability and improvement
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure patient needs remain central
- Ensure compliance with national healthcare cleanliness and food safety standards
- All services must align with NHS operational and estates guidance
About you
You’re a motivated, reliable, and adaptable leader with experience managing people, services, and budgets in a complex environment. You understand how high-quality facilities and hospitality services contribute directly to patient wellbeing and safety.
You’re comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and presenting information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Essential qualifications & experience
Qualifications
- Level 4 Advanced Certificate in Food Safety (or willingness to achieve within 6 months)
- Management qualification at Level 5 Diploma (or willingness to work towards within 2 years)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Literacy, numeracy, and IT skills at Level 2 (or equivalent)
- Food safety knowledge aligned with UK standards
Experience
- Substantial experience in a management-level role
- Proven experience managing budgets and resources
- Leading and implementing service change
- Developing service specifications and performance frameworks
- Designing and monitoring quality assurance systems
Skills & knowledge
You’ll bring:
- Up-to-date knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP principles
- A solid understanding of COSHH regulations
- Strong people management and communication skills
- The ability to plan and coordinate work across teams and sites
- Confident IT and presentation skills for professional environments
Desirable experience includes:
- Multi-site service management
- Working with external estates providers (including PFI)
- Cleaning or catering management experience
- Knowledge of PLACE assessments and Quality Improvement Systems
