About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist to join our outpatient teams across hospital and community-based sites. This role provides an exciting opportunity to expand your clinical expertise, contribute to service innovation, and deliver high-quality patient care.
The post-holder will play a key role in supporting outpatient MSK services, with the possibility of involvement in on-call or out-of-hours services, following a suitability assessment. Flexible working arrangements are supported, and travel between sites is minimized wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based MSK physiotherapy care for patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Undertake specialist assessments, reason findings, and create individualised management plans
- Contribute to clinical initiatives, service improvement, and audits to enhance patient outcomes
- Support the training and supervision of students, junior staff, and assistant therapy personnel
- Maintain accurate and legible patient records and adhere to professional standards
- Participate in the Trust’s CPD programme, including monthly coaching and half-day educational sessions
- Attend a clinical educator course within six months of appointment to support future educational roles

Person Specification
Qualifications & Registration
Essential:
- Degree or MSc in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration
- Portfolio demonstrating reflective practice, CPD, and relevant clinical experience
Desirable:
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
- Membership of relevant professional networks
- Evidence of Level 7 (MSc) or equivalent study
Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Extensive experience in MSK outpatient services, treating a wide range of conditions
- Competent in specialist assessment, clinical reasoning, and autonomous physiotherapy management
- Experience in clinical audit, research, and service evaluation
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Clinical Governance principles
Desirable:
- Experience applying quality improvement methodology
- Contribution to clinical education and development of colleagues and students
Skills & Attributes
Essential:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex information clearly
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Responsible, reliable, and adaptable to changing service demands
- Proficient in IT and record-keeping systems
Desirable:
- Ability to teach and present to staff, students, and patients using various media
