The Role
UCL is seeking a Research Coordinator to play a central role in delivering a high-profile, Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF)–funded multi-brain bank digital pathology initiative focused on neurodegenerative disease.
This post sits at the heart of an ambitious international collaboration that aims to bring together large-scale digital pathology collections — in partnership with the 10k Brains Project — to accelerate pathology-driven research into neurodegenerative disorders.
You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations and supporting the strategic delivery of this complex, multi-centre programme.
Key Responsibilities
As Research Coordinator, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of the MJFF-funded project
- Coordinate activities across international research centres and brain banks
- Track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables
- Prepare reports, documentation, and materials for funders and partners
- Support and supervise members of the project research team
- Manage project budgets and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with UK research governance, data protection, and ethical standards
- This role contributes directly to responsible data sharing and digital research infrastructure in line with UK policy frameworks
Project Impact
The multi-brain bank initiative aims to transform how neuropathological data are accessed and analysed, enabling researchers worldwide to interrogate disease mechanisms at scale. This work supports broader UK ambitions in health data science and biomedical innovatio
About You
You will be a highly organised and proactive professional, comfortable working across disciplines, institutions, and international boundaries.
You will bring:
- An honours degree (minimum 2:1) in a relevant subject
- Experience coordinating or managing multi-centre research projects
- Experience working in an academic or research-intensive environment
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience supporting complex research collaborations or grant-funded projects will be particularly valuable.
