About the Opportunity

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an Associate Audiologist to join its well-established Audiology Service at King’s Mill Hospital.

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and patient-focused practitioner who is keen to deliver high-quality audiology care for both adults and children. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, contributing to diagnostic, rehabilitative and hearing support services that make a real difference to patients’ lives.

At Sherwood, we believe that when our colleagues feel valued, supported and included, they deliver the very best care. That belief is reflected in our national recognition as an outstanding place to work.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Audiology, you will work with a high level of professional autonomy within agreed clinical protocols. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering a wide range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology procedures, informed by national guidance, clinical evidence and best practice.

You will assess hearing needs, interpret test results, and provide clear, accurate advice to patients, carers, ENT clinicians and other healthcare professionals. The role also involves supporting and reviewing hearing rehabilitation programmes to ensure care remains safe, effective and tailored to individual needs.

Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly when working with hearing-impaired patients, children, older adults and vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology procedures for adults and children
  • Assess hearing needs and interpret audiological investigations accurately
  • Provide diagnostic information and advice to clinicians, patients and carers
  • Manage your own clinical workload within defined protocols
  • Support and monitor hearing rehabilitation programmes
  • Contribute to service improvement, audit and quality assurance activities
  • Maintain accurate clinical records using Trust IT systems
  • Uphold high standards of clinical governance, confidentiality and patient safety
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of care
  • Work collaboratively to maintain a safe and supportive working environment
