About the Role
We are pleased to invite applications for an Associate Audiologist to join the Audiology Service at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a key clinical role within a well-established and supportive department, offering the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-focused audiology care for adults and children. Working closely with Audiologists, ENT clinicians and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will play an important part in diagnosing hearing conditions and supporting patients through effective rehabilitation.
The role offers a balance of autonomous clinical practice and team collaboration, with clear expectations around quality, safety and compassionate care.

What You’ll Be Doing
As an Associate Audiologist, you will:
- Plan and carry out a range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology procedures
- Assess hearing needs and interpret test results accurately
- Provide clear diagnostic information and advice to ENT clinicians, patients and carers
- Support hearing rehabilitation programmes and follow-up care
- Manage your own caseload within agreed clinical protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients who may be hearing-impaired, elderly, frail or vulnerable
- Contribute to audit, research, service improvement and clinical governance
- Uphold Trust values, equality principles and high professional standards
What We’re Looking For
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Experience across diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Good IT skills and clinical judgement
Essential Qualifications
- HNC/D or DipHE in Audiology (or equivalent)
- British Association of Audiologists (BAAT) Part I & II (or equivalent)
Essential Experience
- Working as part of a clinical team
- Supporting people with hearing impairment
Desirable
- Involvement in clinical audit or research
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Sign language training

- DBS costs are covered initially by the Trust and recovered from salary once employment begins.
