About the Role
The School of Biological Sciences at the University of Reading is seeking a highly organised and dependable Executive Support Administrator to provide professional, high-quality administrative and financial support to the School.
This is a permanent, office-based role located in the Health and Life Sciences Building on the University’s Whiteknights campus. You will be part of a small, welcoming, and fast-paced Executive Support team, working closely with academic and professional colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the School.
A key aspect of the role involves financial administration, alongside general executive and administrative support. Accuracy, discretion, and a strong service mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive administrative support within a busy academic environment
- Supporting financial processes using University systems, including monitoring and processing transactions
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring attention to detail across all tasks
- Acting as a first point of contact and delivering a high standard of customer service
- Managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines in a dynamic office setting
- Using a range of IT systems and digital tools to support efficient working
About You
You’ll be well suited to this role if you can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in an administrative or executive support role within a busy office environment
- Practical experience or understanding of financial systems, ideally within UK higher education or a comparable sector
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
- A professional, approachable, and customer-focused manner
