Job Description
Band 6 Deputy Charge Nurse – Ward B12
NHS Forth Valley
Join our dedicated team on Ward B12, an 18-bed ward specialising in a range of surgical fields including ENT, Maxillofacial, Urology, General Surgery, and Ophthalmology. We deliver expert, patient-focused care across these specialties, prioritising safety, compassion, and a smooth journey for every patient from the moment they arrive until they leave us.
We are on the lookout for enthusiastic and skilled nurses ready to step up as Band 6 Deputy Charge Nurse. If you’re passionate about surgical nursing, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have solid experience in these areas, this could be the perfect next move for you.
In this leadership role, you’ll support the Charge Nurse by guiding the team, taking charge of shifts, and ensuring excellent standards of care. You’ll handle everything from assessing and prioritising patients who become unwell to coordinating safe admissions, discharges, and transfers. As a visible role model, you’ll champion compassionate practice, patient advocacy, and high-quality outcomes while always maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, openness, and integrity.
We also value your commitment to education and growth. You’ll play a key part in mentoring students and new staff, supporting preceptorship programmes, and creating learning opportunities on the ward. We’re equally invested in your own professional development and encourage you to keep building your expertise.
If you’re motivated, reliable, and ready to lead by example in a supportive multi-disciplinary team serving our local communities, we’d love to hear from you.
