Job Description

As a Critical Care Nurse at UHSussex, you’ll play a vital role in delivering top-notch, evidence-based care to seriously ill patients. Working closely with a senior nurse, you’ll help assess, plan, and review their treatment. You’ll also serve as an inspiring example for your colleagues, sharing your expertise in critical care and helping the team grow through mentoring and skill assessments.

Important Note for Current NHS Staff: If you’re employed by another NHS Trust or UHSussex and interested in this as a secondment, please get approval from your current manager or Trust before applying. Without this, we can’t proceed with a secondment, so consider applying for the fixed-term option instead if needed.

Visa Sponsorship: This position qualifies for sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration Skilled Worker route. However, you’ll need to meet UKVI’s criteria, such as the required skills, a minimum salary of £25,000, and any other job-specific requirements.

• Handle assigned tasks or areas as directed by the senior nurse, while staying aware of your own expertise and boundaries.
• Actively pursue ongoing learning and growth in your professional skills.
• Guide and support students and peers in building their abilities through hands-on supervision, teaching, and positive role modeling.
• Uphold patient privacy at all times, in full compliance with the Data Protection Act.
